Deal Flow

ChinaTech Partners source the best in Deep Tech from our strategic partners in Life Science, Energy, Food & Transport sectors, drawing on our deep knowledge of China's policy environment & Local Government initiatives. We turn that IP into real commercialisation results with Industrial-scale activation in market, working closely with our strategic partners to ensure that the technology is ready for commercialisation in the China market.


Once we have finished our review of our deal flow partner's technology, we perform multiple strategic reviews to determine their readiness for market, and establish corporate structures to protect IP.  After filtering, we deliver the 'packaged' IP to our commercialisation partners in market, providing a more efficient commercialisation path for our International R&D/ Tech/ IP partners, and our China commercialisation partners.


Technology-transfer is a two-way consideration. For access into, and out of, the China market.

Not only do we work Internationally to source the best of early-stage Tech discoveries in key strategic sectors for application in the China market, we also work with our Chinese Corporate partners to improve their likelihood of success in International growth activities.

Executive Team

Managing Partner, Anthony Coles

Experienced Start-Up Founder, Investor, and former ASX-Listed company CEO, Anthony has been involved in the commercialisation of disruptive technologies since establishing his 1st startup in the 1990's. Anthony has extensive experience in China, and other ASEAN markets, currently spending over 120 days in market, each year. Anthony has founded (and exited) a marketing agency, software, export, Solar EPC, and FinTech businesses.  Anthony's experience in the CleanTech sector (solar/storage) saw him lead International procurement & contract negotiations in Sth Korea, Japan, China, & Malaysia, and Capital-raising/ M&A negotiations in Australia leading to a successful exit (Trade Merger), mid-2014. Since then, Anthony has focussed on commercialising Trade & Investment between Australia & China.

ChinaTech Partners works with CleanTech, Food/Agri Tech, BioTech and Mobility software companies, to assist with commercialisation and market entry. ChinaTech Partners is also establishing ESVCLP, ChinaTech Ventures, in 2019 to activate Cross-Border investment on relevant IP. Our Beijing-based team is also assisting Chinese companies Internationalise, providing support with business development, research, localised clinical trials, and branding/ comms work.

Director, Brendan Mason

Brendan Mason is a China market entry specialist, having resided in China for over 10 years. Previously, Brendan managed innovative Australian Medical Device company, Cochlear Greater China, for seven years, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, importation, distribution, regulatory affairs and customer support. Brendan has also provided support to Australian Government through his role as the CEO of a South Australian Government technology initiative called SinoSA, helping tech  firms with Chinese market entry. 

Previously, Brendan worked at Lucent Technologies/ Bell Labs as Executive Director servicing Telstra, Lucent’s largest account in Asia. Brendan is a past-Chairman of the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Beijing, where he established the government relations committee to provide advice to Chinese government and Australian member companies.

Brendan has qualifications in Business Operations (Macquarie University) and an MBA (Executive) from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of NSW, where he later lectured in Microeconomics within the EMBA program for three years.

Brendan travels extensively for business throughout the region and lives in Beijing with his wife and two children.

Associate, Michelle TsuiTyng Chee

Michelle provides Operations Management support to the Corporate Advisory team, and strategic Marketing Communications support to Outbound ChinaTech corporate partners. 

Michelle brings 15 years experience in B2B & B2C marketing across Australia and Asia where she has managed teams with annual marketing spend budget more than 1 million USD.

A highly technical marketer with certifications in Full Stack Web Development, Interactive Design and Adwords / Analytics, Michelle is a 

former executive of OgilvyOne, McCann Erickson MRM Worldwide, working with bluechip clients. Technical Proficiency in Web analytics (Google Analytics certified). Search marketing: SEM (Google Adwords - Search - certified). Inbound marketing (Hubspot certified). SEO (onsite and offsite). User Experience (UX). Content management and governance. Social media planning and publishing

About Us

Associate, Sean Hyatt

Monash/ Peking University Alumni, Sean  Hyatt lives and works in Beijing, following his success in the annual Chinese Bridge, University Student Language Competition.

A fluent bi-lingual executive, Sean has worked as an analyst, and advisor on cross-border e-Commerce, and Online-to-Offline sales and distribution. In 2017/18 Sean was engaged by Orcoda Limited (nee SmartTrans), an Australian Listed company, to help them drive their sourcing strategy. The role required: Managing contracts with key distributors and suppliers - Organising logistics for importing products into China - Working to secure IP and trademark registration - Building strategy for increased eCommerce sales. Sean's experience with SmartTrans’s to him deep inside the ultra-competitive Chinese eCommerce landscape, in a year that saw mass consolidation in the entire industry. Sean works China-side with Brendon on consultancy work and business operations.

Associate, Ada Wu

University of Sydney Graduate, and six-sigma-trained Ada Wu brings to ChinaTech Partners 8 years commercialisation expertise with global pharmaceutical engineering business, NNE. With roles in project management, strategy planning and deployment, Ada was most recently Head of Strategy and Change Management. Ada has held lead roles in business planning process management, and as a Business analyst. Experienced in Balanced Scorecard, roadmap actions and monthly management reporting. As Project manager, and project controller, Ada oversaw profit and loss management, project change orders management, contract administration, and all contract payments, managing partners and sub-contractors. Multi-lingual, with excellent interpersonal skills, Ada works across ChinaTech Partners IP commercialisation deliverables, and within our Australian IP commercialisation incubator/ accelerator.

Strategic technology focus


Policy adjustments in the China market are leading to a rapid acceleration in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device manufacturing. Our Biotech focus is on biopharmaceutical, biomedical, including marine bioactive substances & biological products.
